Nadene is an indigenous, improviser, composer and multi-instrumentalist using vocals, viola, orchestral strings and traditional Māori instruments to make experimental jazz and global, creative music. Nadene is of Māori and Irish descent, born in Aotearoa (New Zealand). She grew up in Australia where she earned a Masters degree in Cross-Cultural Contemporary Improvisation. She is a choir director, teaching general music, guitar and orchestra as a strings specialist. Nadene enjoys helping students make new discoveries in music.
