Ms. Mary Connor recently graduated with their Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the Boyer College of Music and Dance (Temple University) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While there, Mary was awarded the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Award for Excellence in Scholarship, as well as the Diamond Peer Teacher position for the course Teaching General Music to Inclusive Populations. They spent years teaching private music lessons for the Advanced Music Network and ensemble music for various marching bands across the Greater Philadelphia Area. Mary’s ensemble performance history includes work with the Temple University Wind Ensemble, Concert Orchestra, Brass Chamber Ensemble, Women’s Choir, Diamond Marching Band, and Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble. Currently, Mary is the general music, band, and orchestra instructor for Hooper Avenue Elementary School and Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School; when not teaching, you can find them hiking across the gorgeous Southern California canyons and thrifting for cool clothes. Mary is immensely excited to begin their journey in Los Angeles, California working as a part of a phenomenal team of educators!
