KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING

for Students Across Los Angeles

Education Through Music-Los Angeles believes that every child deserves equity and access to high-quality comprehensive music education.  We see firsthand the hope, connection, and positivity it brings to our students and their families. ETM-LA partners with under-resourced schools to provide music as a core subject for all children, and utilizes music education as a catalyst to improve academic achievement, motivation for school, and self-confidence.

We continue to provide comprehensive music instruction to approximately 19,000 children and top-notch music teacher training. Check out some of our resources: music sessions, learning resources, wellness tools, and music activities

Watch ETM-LA's music program in action

“My daughter loves performing. It’s so important for her structure and growth. It truly helps my child be disciplined at school and with tests. She is thankful for the opportunity to have this program in school as they would not otherwise have this privilege.”

Ana Rodriguez

Parent

“It makes me feel confident in myself knowing that I know how to play an instrument. Music [class] has helped me in school. For example, it helped me pay even more attention to other subjects. It is important to have music in school because if all the subjects are challenging you, you can always turn to music.”

Rogelio

Student

“I believe strongly that every child in the world deserves a well-rounded education, but one that includes music because of what music can do for a kid and for a person. It helps them be better listeners in the world, to try to do something impossible, and to master something that's just theirs.”

Blake Neely

Composer and ETM-LA Board Member

“I couldn't be happier with what ETM-LA has been able to do with our children, and how they've been able to grow and express themselves in a musical way. It's so important to keep music in schools for all children because all kids need different ways of expressing themselves.”

Emilio Garza

Principal, Elysian Heights Elementary
