The Cheryl Tiano Memorial Fund

In Loving Memory of Cheryl Tiano

For nearly three decades, Cheryl Tiano was a leading agent for composers of music for film, television and video games. A musician herself, Cheryl was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and studied composition at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, later graduating from the California Institute of the Arts. She spent several years working with high-profile arts organizations, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where she ran their prestigious Monday Evening Concert series.

Cheryl joined the Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency in May of 1993, where she represented many of the agency’s high-profile composers including Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Steve Jablonsky (Transformers), George S. Clinton (the Austin Powers films), Sean Callery (24), Gabriel Mann (Modern Family) and Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed). She also developed the agency’s video games and interactive division, through which she successfully encouraged game producers to elevate their soundtracks by utilizing orchestras in their scores and involving many of the industry’s most prominent composers.

We invite you to honor Cheryl’s legacy and her love of music by supporting The Cheryl Tiano Memorial Fund which will help provide quality sequential music instruction to students from under-resourced schools across Los Angeles County.

All gifts to ETM-LA through The Cheryl Tiano Memorial Fund will help ensure no child is deprived of equity and access to a comprehensive music education that includes such areas of study: general music, composition, vocal, instrumental, music technology, world music, recorder, and ukulele. The Cheryl Tiano Memorial Fund proudly supports music for every student in three schools located in Los Angeles County.

Your 100% Tax-Deductible Contribution to Education Through Music-LA will directly support weekly, yearlong music instruction.
