LOS ANGELES, CA – On October 23, hundreds of attendees gathered 70 floors above the city at OUE Skyspace Los Angeles for Yelp’s Raise the Roof event, with all proceeds benefitting music education programs across Los Angeles County schools. ETM-LA proudly partnered with Yelp for an evening of their charitable series, which takes place every Monday in October on a different rooftop around LA with the mission to highlight and support designated non-profit organizations.

The large, enthusiastic crowd of young professionals participated in fun, interactive booths including “Learning to DJ” with ETM-LA Associates Board Member Cathleen Cher (Kanye West, Jimmy Kimmel), a “Music Makes My Life Better” photo booth with school instruments, “Learning to Play Ukulele” with ETM-LA Teacher and Mentor Teacher-Supervisor Eva Gonzalez-Ruskiewicz, and “Make A Note, Give A Note,” which gave participants the opportunity to create inspiring cards for ETM-LA students. And perhaps for the most thrilling aspect of the evening, guests received discounted tickets for the Skyslide, the recently opened glass slide wrapping outside the 69th and 70th floors of the US Bank Tower.

Attendees also enjoyed delicious food and drinks from generous vendors such as Sprinkles in Beverly Hills, Yuca’s Restaurants, Peddler’s Creamery, Kobunga, BeatBox Beverages, Everytable, Colette’s Catering & Events, Barista Society, and Milk & Eggs – Farm & Food Delivery.

ETM-LA provides quality, year-long, in-school music instruction in disadvantaged Los Angeles County schools as part of the core curriculum for every child. Since its founding in 2006, ETM-LA has grown to serve over 12,000 students at 25 partner schools in Los Angeles. For the 2017-18 academic year, ETM-LA is expanding to 30 schools reaching 14,000 students.
