Cindy has a Master of Music degree in Horn Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music cum laude in Horn Performance from the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music. While Horn was her main focus she continued to sing and study voice through college. She has studied and sung choral, jazz, musical theater, and art song repertoire. She has been performing, coaching, and teaching privately for about 30 years. She has coached numerous middle and high school Horn and Brass sections and youth orchestras in the San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles areas. She has had numerous students go on to study music in college or receive stipends to play Horn in college, participate in All-State and County Honor Bands, and receive high ratings in Solo/Ensemble Festivals. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Dominican College and Northwest University. She has recorded at Capital Records in Hollywood, Lucas Studios in San Rafael, CA, and other smaller studios. She’s worked with students of all ages before working with ETMLA, including performing educational chamber concerts in the San Fernando Valley schools of LAUSD. She previously was a teaching artist in Burbank USD where she taught recorder. When she was in college she spent various summers assisting in summer music classes through parks and rec centers. She continues to teach privately and perform. The goal has always been to share the joy of music and enlighten the minds of her students to encourage a love of music. She enjoys contributing to the Elementary Music programs with ETMLA and bringing the joy of music to her students.
