Meet Our 2018 Summer Interns
Evann Carter, Program and Operations Intern, is entering her fourth year studying Music Education at California State University, Northridge. She has been singing in a choral program since 3rd grade and is a member of CSUN’s top choir, Northridge Singers. She is also a member of the musical honor society Pi Kappa Lambda.
Aside from music, Evann tutors statistics in the CSUN Math Department, where she assists students one-on-one with homework and exam preparation.
Erica Garcia, Communications Intern, graduated from California State University, Fullerton where she received a BA degree in English, studying literature and creative writing. Erica worked as an elementary school tutor and a freelance journalist before coming to join the Education Through Music-Los Angeles team this summer. A southern California native, Erica grew up playing guitar and drums, and after seeing first hand the positive effects of music programs in elementary schools back home, she is so excited to be working with ETM-LA this summer to help further their mission for more students in the future.
