Dear Friends,
As our world and communities deal with the effects of COVID-19, all of us at Education Through Music-Los Angeles extend our love and support to you and to all our students, partners, supporters, and community members. As everyone is experiencing, offices – including ours – and school districts across LA County are physically closed. However, ETM-LA continues to ensure that music education is delivered to children who most need joy and stability at this chaotic time.
Many of our supporters and friends within our community have asked how we are coping and if there is anything they can do to support ETM-LA. We are beyond grateful for your concern and your interest in lending support in this time of crisis. We are striving to maintain our staff and music teachers who are working to create needed distance learning resources through this hardship. Your continued support will go toward ensuring the important work of everyday heroes can continue, providing resources that aid in coping with stress and anxiety through music and music therapy during this chaotic and stressful time.
Prior to the school closures, ETM-LA sent home music activities and worksheets for all students. And through online tutorials, “virtual” conferences, and remote access to materials, ETM-LA stays committed to nurturing the lives of the children and their families. The world may look a bit different in the coming days, but we deeply believe in and know firsthand the power of music to bring joy and positivity to the students whom we serve.
During these challenging times, we look forward to staying on the front lines to ensure that thousands of children across LA County continue receiving the benefits of music education.
Together, we can continue to help our children and families cope and receive joy through music. We will continue to keep you updated on our resources on our website.
On behalf of everyone at Education Through Music-Los Angeles, we hope you are staying safe and healthy.
Yours,
Victoria Lanier
Executive Director
