Music Teacher Intern

Sheila Carol, Music Intern, is a classically-trained musician who has happily taught music to all ages, from infants through seniors. She began her professional music career as a teenager, singing in a jazz quartet. From here, Sheila went on to earn a B.A. in Vocal Performance at the University of Maryland, College Park and an M.A. in Musicology from the University of Southern California. As a musicologist, Sheila presented her scholarship on her research interests in popular music, film and television music, and interdisciplinary research and teaching at conferences through the United States to Europe. Simultaneously, she taught numerous classes in the University of Southern California departments of Music History and Literature as well as Screen Scoring. She has also taught early music education classes to parents with their pre-school aged children. She is excited to continue to share her passion for music and carry out our mission as a member of the Education Through Music-Los Angeles team.
