Adam Starkopf
Adam Starkopf is a drummer, composer, and educator born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He earned a BFA from The New School University, where he studied with renowned jazz masters including Charlie Persip, Andrew Cyrille, and Reggie Workman, among others.
Starkopf has also worked extensively in the modern dance community and currently serves at the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at The Colburn School. In 2024, he completed his MA in Music Education at San José State University and now serves on the faculty as an academic advisor for the Music Education graduate studies program at SJSU.
In addition to his work in education, Adam remains active in the Los Angeles music scene, recording and performing across a wide range of genres while co-leading his eight-piece brass band, Brass Magic.
