Eric Lifland

Eric Lifland teaches general music and choir at Normandie Elementary School in South Los Angeles, bringing music to all 850 students every week. Eric also teaches at the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, where he is assistant conductor of the Young Men’s Ensemble and leads “First Experiences in Singing” and advanced musicianship classes.

 

Eric is the assistant conductor and music librarian of Artes Vocales of Los Angeles, where he also sings, arranges choral music, and teaches music theory.

 

Eric also performs and directs musical theater. He has assisted director Hal Prince on Prince of Broadway, played the lead in Sweeney Todd, and served as music director and pianist for five university productions including the first post-Broadway production of Prince’s 2007 Kurt Weill bio-musical LoveMusik.

 

Eric received his Bachelor of Arts in Music, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied musicology and composition.
