Ani Avanessian graduated summa cum laude from California State University Northridge in Spring 2017 with a B.A. degree in Music Education, emphasis on choral. While there, she received the “Outstanding Junior” and “Outstanding Senior” awards as well as the “Women’s Chorale Outstanding Student” award. She started playing piano close to the age of 16, and by her private instructor, was encouraged to further pursue her education in music. She has performed on piano with the Glendale High School summer program, Pierce College 2016 Spring Ballet Recital, her senior recital in Spring 2017, Calahan Elementary School strings program, and at various Church events with AEBC. Her choir performances include Master Chorale in Fall 2013, Spring 2014, Spring 2015, and Spring 2017; Women’s Chorale in Fall 2015, Spring 2016, Fall 2016, and Fall 2017; and University Chorus in Fall 2015, Spring 2016, and Fall 2016. She is currently teaching at Cleveland Elementary School and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary schools through ETM-LA. She is also teaching at Chime Charter Institute as a part-time choir teacher. She taught with Mrs. DeMore during the first semester of her student teaching, and Mrs. Callirigos during her second semester of student teaching. Ms. Avanessian also teaches piano privately. For fun, Ani likes to play piano, skate, hit the parkour gym, and read.
