Bass trombonist Matthew Evans received his Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2009 on a merit scholarship. During his studies at Oberlin, he was a student of James DeSano, retired Principal Trombone of the Cleveland Orchestra. Matthew has performed, recorded, studied and collaborated with some of the world’s finest classical, commercial, jazz and chamber musicians. Matthew recently graduated with his Master of Music on a full ride merit scholarship from Carnegie Mellon University. He was a student of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s Murray Crewe, bass trombonist, and Craig Knox, Tuba. Matthew is also the creator of FaceCharger, an injury preventive system for the embouchures of brass and woodwind musicians. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Matthew is working as a freelance musician and music educator.
